The Seahawks currently have the best odds to land quarterback Deshaun Watson as the trade market begins to heat up.
Deshaun Watson odds for his next destination are trickling in as the trade market heats up for the 26-year-old quarterback. And, of the teams with the best odds, it’s the one that just traded a franchise quarterback of their own… the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seahawks currently have the best odds at +250 to land Watson, according to BetMGM. It shouldn’t come as any surprise considering their newly acquire draft capital and the fact that they still have a number of talented players on offense, including Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

Seattle finished the season 7-10 in 2021 and missed the playoffs for just the second time with Wilson under center. In his last season in 2020, Watson and the Texans stumbled to a 4-12 record. However, he led the team to back-to-back winning records and playoff appearances in 2018 and 2019. Of course, any team interested in Watson would have to get the approval of the quarterback, however, Seattle could be just as appealing to Watson as he is to the Seahawks.

NFC South (Buccaneers, Saints, and Panthers) In Pursuit of Watson
It seems as though the entire NFC South, minus the Falcons, are interested in acquiring Watson. The Saints saw Drew Brees retire following the 2020 season, the Panthers have Sam Darnold, and the Buccaneers are navigating their first season in the post-Tom Brady era. Needless to say, all these teams are quarterback starved.
According to Ian Rapoport, both the Saints and Panthers have been very aggressive and have offers in for the quarterback. Again, these meetings and offers are all contingent on Watson wanting to meet with the team. The Buccaneers, despite having the third-best odds, have been a bit quieter on the Watson front, although their need for a top-flight quarterback is apparent.
Steelers, Browns Also In On Watson?
Much like the case with the Saints and Buccaneers, the Steelers saw their franchise quarterback retire, leaving a sizeable gap at the position. Now, Ben Roethlisberger was not playing at the level of Brees and most certainly not at the level of Brady, however, the dropoff for the Steelers would be apparent. Watson would greatly mitigate, if not, improve that position drastically the moment he steps on the field. And by improve, we mean, improve it over what they were with Roethlisberger, not what they are projected to be with a guy like Mason Rudolph.
The Browns are a bit of a wildcard in this as they are the only team with a franchise quarterback. Or so some think. Baker Mayfield has had an up-and-down career so far and 2021 was definitely one of those down moments. The Browns have already made moves to improve their offense with the acquisition of wide receiver Amari Cooper, however, do they intend to have Mayfield throwing him the ball? It didn’t work that well with Odell Beckham Jr. Perhaps, the Browns believe that they would be far better of with Watson and many would likely agree.
