Week Two in the APDFL saw teams starting to carve out their identities for 2022. In sparing no feelings, teams made examples of their opponents, showing the league and the world. Under those circumstances, Saturday was not for the faint of heart or weak of constitution. Instead, those brave souls that watched demolitions left, right, and center, now understand that whoever makes the top five will earn ir. Remember, the strength of schedule and performance matters.
1. Crescent City Kings (1-0)
Next Game: March 19 vs. Arkansas Punishers
The defending champions face a Punisher team, looking to make a name for themselves in the APDFL. With that said, heading down to Victory Field will not be an easy task. The Kings, fresh off a two-week break, looking to take out their frustrations on someone. Crescent City needs to tighten up the undisciplined aspects in a hurry. Their schedule becomes more difficult as the season progresses. Arkansas will attempt to pressure Jyron Walters. Will he make them pay?
2. Georgia Thrashers (2-0)
Next Game: March 19 @ Georgia Noles
After edging the Cobras in a close contest, the Thrashers rebounded with a 40-0 shellacking of the Tuskegee Ayrmen. To their credit, Georgia showed no hesitation in scoring and keeping their foot on the gas. Clicking in all facets and finishing games should be their recipe for the rest of the season. Now, they head to Macon to face a reeling Noles team that still smarts from their defeat at the hands of the Storm. The Thrashers cannot afford a letdown from here on out. DeMarcus Sweat continues to show why he’s been the best receiver in the APDFL for the past two seasons.

3. Mississippi Dynasty (2-0)
Next Game: March 19 vs. Mississippi Steelers
The Dynasty defense erases offenses. Quite simply, they show no weakness, at any level. Upfront, their pass rush terrorizes offensive lines. The linebackers don’t look out of position and swarm to the ball. The secondary is not only deep but can all make plays on the ball. Meanwhile, Rodrick Gladney continues to ply his trade as the best offensive lineman the APDFL has seen in years. With the team rolling, the Dynasty welcomes a Steelers team that has not played an official game yet. Sam Washington never receives enough credit for his dominance. He keeps quiet and makes plays.
4. Georgia Cobras (2-1)
Next Game: March 19 vs. Florida Falcons
The Cobras shut out a tough South Alabama squad to raise their record to 2-1. On offense, Jarod Lewis stacks yards and touchdowns. With the full faith of his offense, Lewis appears different this season. He cuts sharper, more decisive, with less dancing, and bringing purpose. With that said, the Florida Falcons enter this game undefeated, looking to cement their status as an elite team in the Eastern Conference. From all accounts, the Falcons will be ready to take on the challenge. The winner of this game poses the most direct threat to the Thrashers/
5. Florida Falcons (2-0)
Next Game: March 19 @ Georgia Cobras
Lost amongst the household names and perennial powers in the Eastern Conference, the Falcons make their way to the APDFL with purpose. Not caring about any accolade that’s not the trophy at the end, they began the season by destroying opponents. In outscoring opponents by a margin of 73-2, the Falcons bring an uncommon balance to the field. The true key will be covering the quartet of the two Downs, Deberry, and Javier McGriff, the Falcons could emerge victoriously. A win in Thomasville would send shockwaves through the league. Florida boasts two defensive ends that should feature prominently in their game plan.
Commentary
With the arrival of the Falcons, the Eastern Conference becomes a horserace. The Thrashers, still undefeated, possess the deepest talent. The Cobras possess big-game experience on offense and an unshakeable mindset. Meanwhile, you can’t count out Marcus Brooks and the Columbus Storm. Over in the Western Conference, the Dynasty rebuilt and look like they want to not only win but punish opponents. The Crescent City Kings won last year with heart and passion. Now, with the eyes of the entire league upon them, can they march through a schedule that does them no favors?
