During this draft season, the Las Vegas Raiders decided to roll the proverbial dice. In trading for Davante Adams, the Silver and Black decided to ship to picks, a first and second to the Green Bay Packers. As a result, the balance of the draft shifts to the latter half of Day Two. Under those consequences, Vegas needs to hit on these picks, not for immediate starters, but depth pieces, with the upside to start and the potential down the road. Below, the five draft picks the Las Vegas Raiders currently have.
Round 3, Pick 86
Troy Andersen, LB, Montana State
Although the Raiders signed Jayon Brown to play alongside Denzel Perryman, the team needs to continue to look forward. Perryman, a downhill tackler with superlative technique does possess a flaw that hurts him. In no way, shape, or form, should he play on passing downs? Whether he looks lost or cannot track the route, teams spot him and find the player. Meanwhile, Andersen’s speed, ability to flow to the ball in the passing game will eventually help the Raiders.

Round 4. Pick 126
John Ridgeway, DT, Arkansas
In the midst of their free agency bonanza, the Raiders sign a few defensive tackles, Bilal Nichols being at the top of the list. However, what would improve the interior of the line is a young, more explosive nose tackle to fight on the inside, freeing the edge rushers to go in and win versus single-blocking. Ridgeway lives for not just clogging the middle, but shows enough quickness to disrupt. He would give Nichols someone that would erase the doubles.
Round 5, Pick 164
Kellen Diesch, OT, Arizona State
Speculation runs rampant that former first-round pick Alex leatherwood would see another chance at right tackle. Regardless, the Raiders still need talent at the positions. And no, bringing Brandon Parker back does not dissuade the selection of the former Sun Devil. Diesch could see snaps on special teams first and from there possible work into the lineup. Either way, the team must bring in tackle help.
Round 5, Pick 165
Bo Melton, WR, Rutgers
Despite improving the wide receiver position, the team still needs speed somewhere in that room. Granted, the first couple of spots on the roster look occupied. Yet, in a spread, Melton could find his share of Carr go targets. Additionally, Melton saw extensive time on special teams as a gunner and return man, averaging 19.2 yards on punt returns.
Round 7, Pick 227
Markquese Bell, DB, FAMU
Under new position coach Chris Ash, the Raiders renovated the defensive back group, shuttling some while bringing new talent in. One intriguing prospect that could sit there late is the former Florida AM standout. Bell fits any scheme but will play in subpackages. Blessed with speed, he can cut off angles and take the ballcarrier down. Plus, he displays range to make plays on the ball from anywhere.
