Ever since Tony Khan has entered the world of professional wrestling he has made things so much better. One may ask what has Khan done to make professional wrestling so much better. The answer is plain and simple, he has made it fun again by giving the fans what they want. And that right there is the key to making professional wrestling successful.
Tony Khan Makes Professional Wrestling Fun Again
It was a bumpy road at first for All Elite Wrestling and Tony Khan, and they are still working out the kinks, but one thing is for sure, he is getting better and better with each passing day. Just look at the four pay-per-views for AEW. Every one of them pushes the envelope of excitement. The wrestling continues to get better along with the storylines. And two of the most successful PPVs in the company’s brief history happen at the end of 2021 and into early 2022.
And why is that, well Khan knows what he is doing as a booker and an owner of a professional wrestling company. He grew up loving professional wrestling and wanted to bring it back to its glory years. He has given the fans a legitimate alternative to the sports entertainment that is WWE. And while AEW may never be as big as WWE, it has a passionate fanbase that is into every match and goes nuts anytime there is a big surprise. It is all about fan engagement in this business and that is one thing AEW and now Ring of Honor has over anyone else.
And speaking of Ring of Honor, Tony Khan now owns ROH, and he delivered an excellent PPV on the Friday of Wrestlemania weekend with Supercard of Honor. While it was not the level of an AEW show, it was full of big surprises and great wrestling. Especially the match between FTR and the Briscoes. That match will go down as the match of the weekend. But as he does with AEW, he gave the ROH fans something they could be proud of going forward.
Nobody knows what is next for ROH, but with AEW stars holding some of the company’s top belts, you can expect the fans are not going to be let down by Tony Khan. He learned from his mistake from AEW Revolution 2021 when he did not deliver on the Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match. From that point on, he has not let the fans of professional wrestling down.

Not to mention look at all the talent that has found new life under Tony Khan after being released by the company in Stamford, and put in the right position to succeed. CM Punk, Keith Lee, Adam Cole, reDRagon, Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, FTR, Ruby Soho, Toni Storm (the latest signee to AEW), Swerve Strickland, Andrade, Daddy Magic” Matt Minard, and “Cool Hands” Angelo Parker. There is more to this list for sure, but these are some of the more notable ones in recent memory.
AEW Dynamite and Rampage have continued to deliver each and every week on TBS and TNT. Tony Khan is a reason for this. He delivers an entertaining product every week with the professional wrestling matches being so good. The formula is there to have a great show if CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, and Darby Allin are on it. These guys move the needle as one Roman Reigns would say. You know when the Young Bucks are in action people are going to watch. Just imagine when Kenny Omega comes back. And of course, there are so many others like MJF and Chris Jericho fans are tuning in for.
But give credit where credit is due, Tony Khan books a great show each and every week. And it has to be tough leaving some people off both of those shows. But when it comes to the PPVs, he pulls out all the stops. And he will continue to do that with not only AEW but ROH now too.
For such a long period of time, there was no true alternative to WWE. TNA from 2004-2010, was that, but once Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff started booking it, that went downhill. ROH in its heyday when the Bucks, Cody Rhodes, Omega, and the rest of Bullet Club came over from New Japan Pro Wrestling made people tune in, but they never had a good television.
NXT under Triple H set the foundation for what Tony Khan is doing with AEW today because of what Hunter was able to do by engaging the fans by having good professional wrestling matches. But here we are in 2022, and the business has never been better. Tony Khan has opened the Forbidden Door of professional wrestling as wrestlers from different companies can show up on other promotions.
Things are only getting better, there is no longer one option anymore and Tony Khan is to thank for that. He has made professional wrestling fun again. Thank you Mr. Khan for this.
