While pressure exists at every level of the NFL, the quarterback will always face the most intense form of heat.
As training camps open, every team starts with a positive outlook. Yet, when the cold-hearted hand of the regular season slaps them, how will they respond? Granted, the NFL likes to preach about their parity, where one team can rise from nowhere to win games. Meanwhile, the known superstars always seem to rise to the surface. Now, these quarterbacks, blessed with immense talent, are also burdened with high expectations.
Lamar Jackson
If you mention his name in various conversations, a wide array of opinions will ensure. On one hand, his proponents lavish effusive praise. At the same time, the detractor salivates at every misstep. With that said, Lamar Jackson needs to enjoy a bounceback season, in the worst way. Injuries robbed him of the last quarter of the 2021 season. However, he has not produced at that MVP level. While the Ravens provided upgrades on the offensive line, they failed to address the glaring receiver void. In his defense, Jackson will need to win with an elite tight end and rather interchangeable wideouts. The facts are the facts, though. Completing less than fifty-six percent of your playoff passes and boasting a lone playoff victory will haunt Jackson until he rectifies that. The Ravens employ a championship defense. In contrast, the offense needs work, fine-tuning and balance. Is Lamar Jackson perennially an MVP talent or an electric player without playoff credentials, doomed to NFL regular-season accolades?

Dak Prescott
Make no mistake, statistically, Dak Prescott is an upper-tier NFL quarterback. As a matter of fact, of the quarterbacks on this short list, his numbers dwarf the other two. With three times as many touchdowns than interceptions, Prescott moves the ball and puts points on the board. Concomitantly, he’s suffered only one losing season in six years in Dallas. You’d think that would be enough to keep him away from this list. Under most circumstances, those lofty numbers would. However, Prescott, much like his predecessor, Tony Romo, Prescott could not get Dallas over the postseason hump. Jerry Jones spent money and draft capital on a line, backs, and receivers. Yet, he still seeks a fruitful playoff run. That 1-3 record and trouble completion percentage hurts. As mentioned, Dak Prescott plays for the best NFC East team. On paper never wins games and the Prescott really needs a strong 2022
Derek Carr
Through no fault of his own, no NFL quarterback ever dealt with such a dramatic team and coaching upheaval more than Derek Carr. Entering his ninth season, the best statistical quarterback in Raiders history sits winless in big games. Veteran backup T.J. Yates holds a playoff victory. Tim Tebow, who was as accurate as Times Square watch, can claim one. Conversely, Carr sits, in his ninth season, and does not have a single playoff win. The Raiders traded for a top-three wideout in Davante Adams and hired a QB guru in Josh McDaniels. For years, Carr apologist lamented the lack of a number-one wideout. Now, one exists. Regardless of what contract extension he signed, Derek Carr cannot fail this season. The only obstacle that sits in Carr’s way is between his ears. He hears an invisible rush and will occasionally welt under the eat. Physically, Carr stacks up with most of the league.
Overview
Stylistically, these three NFL passers could not be any different. Be that as it may, they all possess the dinosaur-sized albatross around their necks. The law of averages dictates that one of them will succeed and the other will fail again. Franchises are built upon pressure. Then again, the same pressure will cave in the same teams.
