The Buffalo Bills Are The Team To Beat

In a classic case of save the best for last, we end our series of proposition bets with a look at the powerful Buffalo Bills.

For two decades the New England Patriots dominated the AFC East. At present, the Bills are the team to beat in the division.

Buffalo led Kansas City by 3 points with 13 seconds remaining in last season’s AFC divisional round game. From that point forward, the Bills special teams and defense did everything wrong. Kansas City forced overtime with a field goal. The Chiefs then proceeded to score a touchdown and beat Buffalo 37-31. A heartbreaking loss for a franchise with several heartbreaking losses.

The Bills are the overwhelming favorite to repeat as AFC East champion. The rest of the division is in flux. The Dolphins, who finished 9-8 a year ago, have added elite wide receiver Tyreek Hill. The Patriots have many questions as they go into the third season without Tom Brady. The Jets are the Jets.

The Bills roster is talented and deep. Quarterback Josh Allen is primed to make a run at league MVP. Allen is the closest thing to the great John Elway at the quarterback position. Certainly high praise. Allen has plenty of weapons around him to expect the Bills offense to be explosive.

Defensively, the Bills added future Hall of Fame edge rusher Von Miller to an already talented defense. Miller brings a tremendous amount of winning quotient to Buffalo. Miller has two Super Bowl rings and selected a prime place to add a third.

All this said, it’s time to put our money where our mouth is. The over/under for Buffalo heading into the 2022 season is 11 1/2 wins. The Bills went 11-6 last season and that was considered disappointing. A deeper, more talented and experienced roster should surpass that total easily. Over 11 1/2 Buffalo is the play.

Now for a final preseason wager, let’s go with the Buffalo Bills to win Super Bowl LVII as the betting favorite at +650. Sometimes, the obvious choice is the right one.
