Welcome to the latest edition of NFL rumors on Full Press Coverage.

Seven weeks are in the books and we are just days away from the NFL trade deadline so the rumors are heating up. We have already seen the Carolina Panthers move on from wide receiver Robbie Anderson and running back Christian McCaffrey. Could more moves be coming out of the NFC South? Perhaps, but the likelihood of the Panthers moving on from both Brian Burns and D.J. Moore seems less likely than it did a week ago.

Let’s take a look at all the other rumors circulating around the NFL.

Philadelphia Eagles – In The Market For A Running Back?

Rumor: Although nothing is imminent, the Eagles may be looking to add a running back before the deadline, according to Jay Glazer.

The Philadelphia Eagles, coming off a bye, remain the only undefeated team left at 6-0 and based on their reported interest in Christian McCaffrey, it would make sense that they would be looking to add to their backfield. Especially considering that when the Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2017, the acquisition of running back Jay Ajayi helped immensely. The question, though, is… who is left out there? Jaguars running back James Robinson was traded late Monday to the Jets following the season-ending injury to Breece Hall. That leaves the likes of Kareem Hunt, Melvin Gordon, and David Montgomery as potential targets. Will any be an upgrade over current back, Miles Sanders?

WR Brandin Cooks – On The Move Again?

Rumor: Teams have been calling the Texans about wide receiver, Brandin Cooks, according to Ian Rapoport.

It should come as no surprise that Brandin Cooks could possibly be on the move before the November 1st trade deadline. He is certainly no stranger to being traded and the Texans are headed nowhere in 2022. Cooks has just 235 yards on 24 receptions this season but could be an instant upgrade for a team like the Green Bay Packers or even the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where Cooks would have some familiarity having played with quarterback Tom Brady in New England during the 2017 season. Cooks is currently signed through the 2024 season.

Pittsburgh Steelers – WR Chase Claypool

Rumor: If Chase Claypool is traded, the Steelers would likely be looking for a package similar to that of what the Panthers received for Christian McCaffrey, according to ESPN.

Despite a big win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6, the Steelers came back to earth in a 16-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins and currently sit at 2-5 on the year. With the prospects of a successful season dwindling, the urgency of the team to trade wide receiver Chase Claypool could increase, especially considering the report that the Steelers were looking to move the third-year pro in the preseason. At just 24 years old, he could be a potential franchise piece for team but they will likely have to provide a similar trade package as the 49ers did to acquire Christian McCaffrey. That would mean multiple draft picks but not necessarily a first rounder.
