In facing one of the worst defenses in the NFL, the Las Vegas Raiders failed to score a single, solitary point, losing 24-0.

In reality, the Raiders’ 24-0 defeat at the hands of the New Orleans should signal the end of any false hope that a playoff run will occur. Instead, the humiliation of this loss should echo through the organization until significant changes and adjustments occur to ensure the long-term prosperity of the franchise. As low points go, today marks a bottoming out for this franchise.

In total just 183 yards, the Raiders failed to move the ball against the thirty-first-ranked defense in points allowed. Derek Carr, missed receivers for the balance of the afternoon, making simple catches require hyperflexibility. Additionally, the Saints manhandled the offensive line, tallying four sacks and hurrying Carr all game long. With no adjustments to speak of, the Saints teed off on the line of scrimmage. When not hurried, Carr did not look comfortable.

Lost in the offensive failure was the complete lack of targets and catches for both Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow. First, Adams was uncertain about playing due to an illness. With Marshon Lattimore out, you’d expect Adams to feast. Whether sickness or ineffective playcalling or quarterback play hampered him, Adams ran routes, seemingly for no reason. Meanwhile, Hunter Renfrow, a trusted target for years, saw two passes thrown his way.

As the Raiders could not get home one time, Andy Dalton stood tall in the pocket. As a result of a futile pass rush and coverage issues, Dalton found eight different receivers for 231 yards and two scores. The Raiders, complete with no interior push, atrocious coverage, and lackluster tackler allowed Dalton to enjoy a worry-free Sunday. Whatever adjustments Patrick Graham contemplates, need to be immediate and long-lasting. Now, the Raiders lack urgency on both sides of the ball.
