NFL Rumors: Multiple Teams Calling Broncos About Bradley Chubb

With the NFL trade deadline coming this Tuesday, a flurry of action could come down in the next 24-48 hours and one of the teams at the front of everyone’s mind is the Denver Broncos.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, multiple teams have called the Broncos in regard to linebacker Bradley Chubb. Schefter added that one franchise has reportedly offered at least a first-round pick for the fifth-year pro.

It’s a far cry from where the Broncos were expected to be when they acquired quarterback Russell Wilson, however, with his struggles as well as the coaching staff, Denver’s attention may quickly turn to the future and trying to find a way to recoup some of the draft capital they used to acquire Wilson from the Seahawks.

The Philadelphia Eagles have already made a move for a defensive player but teams like Kansas City, Dallas Cowboys, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers may show interest. The Chiefs have reportedly shown interest in Brian Burns out of Carolina but it looks more and more likely that the Panthers will hold onto their young defensive star. In Tampa, the news of Shaq Barrett’s season-ending injury could add urgency in getting a deal done if they look to compete for a playoff spot.

Now, this may not be the end of Chubb in Denver as he has expressed interest in staying in Denver long-term and reports have said if a trade does not come down before Tuesday, a long-term extension becomes a distinct possibility. Especially with their victory over the Jaguars in London. The Broncos are reportedly set on keeping wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler and could see the potential for a bounce-back season from Wilson and the team in 2023. In order to do that, they want talented players like Jeudy, Hamler, and, of course, Chubb.

In seven games this season, Chubb has 5.5 sacks and has been credited with eight quarterback hits.
