NFL 2022: Five Key Statistics for Week 11

Once again, there are four teams that are off in Week 11. So which one doesn’t belong when it comes to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers? Can you say “Sunshine State?”

Eight weeks of action remain in the 2022 NFL regular season. And again, there are some intriguing numbers to go along with the 14 games this week.

That’s the number of 100-yard rushing performances after 10 weeks and a total of 150 regular-season games this season. A year ago, it was the first season in league annals in which 272 regular-season contests were played and there were just 104 outings of 100-plus rushing yards by individuals. In 2021, NFL teams averaged 115.2 yards per game on the ground. But 10 weeks into this season, that number has climbed a smidge to 121.8 yards per contest.

A year ago, the New York Jets came up with a 21-14 victory at Houston in Week 12. It was the club’s lone victory away from home in 2021. All told, the team finished with a 1-7 road mark during head coach Robert Saleh’s first season on the job a year ago. But it’s been a different story this season to date as the club has won at Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Green Bay and Denver. The Jets and Eagles are the lone unbeaten teams on the road (4-0) this year.

Speaking of the Jets, they face the rival Patriots this week for the second time this season. Robert Saleh’s club fell at home, 22-17, in Week 8. The Jets have dropped 13 straight games in the series. This week, the Raiders, Steelers and Chiefs are also looking to post sweeps over the Broncos, Bengals and Chargers, respectively. In 2022, there have been seven instances of teams meeting twice and there have been three sweeps compared to four splits.

The Minnesota Vikings are now tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for the best record in the league (8-1) this season. The club’s eight victories equal last season’s total and are one more than the team finished with in 2020. Kevin O’Connell’s surging club has won seven consecutive games – all by eight points or less. And Minnesota’s eight victories is just two less than the rival Green Bay Packers (4), Detroit Lions (3) and Chicago Bears (3) combined.

Kyle Shanahan’s club owns a 5-4 record this season and finds itself in second place in a disappointing division. A year ago, the 49ers got hot when it counted most. But this was also a club that was swept by the playoff-bound Cardinals and last-place Seahawks. The result was a 2-4 regular-season divisional record. This year, the Niners own a 3-0 mark vs. their NFC West rivals, scored a combined 82 points and allowed just 30 points.
