For the first time since way back in Week 5, the NFL schedule features 16 games. Tradition will once again be served on Thanksgiving Day in Detroit and in Dallas. There are a season-high Interconference games in Week 12. So far this year, the series has been owned by the NFC but by only one victory (23-22). The Eagles (4-0), Giants (4-0), Vikings (2-0) and Seahawks (2-0) have combined for more than half of the NFC’s wins. In the AFC, the Chiefs (3-0) and Jets (1-0) are the only two clubs that have not lost an interconference game this season. And those teams host the Rams and Bears, respectively, on Sunday.

It’s a team that currently sits in second place in the NFC North. The Detroit Lions are riding a three-game winning streak – the club’s longest string of success since 2017 – and have back-to-back road contests. The team is back home for its traditional Thanksgiving Day tilt and his hosting the Bills. And it may surprise some to know that the Lions’ offense has scored 30 touchdowns in 10 games. Detroit totaled just 35 offensive TDs in 17 games in 2021.

That the Dallas Cowboys lead the league with 42 sacks (10 games) isn’t necessarily a shock. A year ago, linebacker Micah Parsons earned NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors and bolstered the pass rush. But Dallas came up with just 41 sacks in 17 regular-season outings last season. This year, it’s the consistency of Dan Quinn’s defensive unit that is worth noting. The Cowboys have totaled two or more sacks in each of their 10 outings this season.

The NFL began recognizing individual sacks as an official statistic in 1982. And since then, no Patriots’ player has led the league in this category. But 11 weeks into this season, New England edge rusher Matt Judon has an NFL-best 13.0 sacks – two more than Dallas’ Micah Parsons (11.0). Could this be the year? But it is worth noting that Pro Football Hall of Famer Andre Tippett led the AFC in quarterback traps in both 1985 (16.5) and 1987 (12.5).

On Sunday night in the City of Brotherly Love, the team with the best record in the NFL hosts a club that has lost as may regular-season games this season than it did in 2020-21 combined. That would be the 4-7 Green Bay Packers. But seven also has some significance for the Philadelphia Eagles, who have as many turnovers (9) as victories in 2022. However, it’s somewhat concerning that seven of those miscues have come in the club’s last three games.
