It’s the number of postseason games the Dallas Cowboys have played entering this weekend, the most in league history. Last week, the club won its 36th postseason contest via a 31-14 victory at Tampa Bay. This Sunday, Mike McCarthy’s team faces the San Francisco 49ers for the second straight year. A win by the visiting Cowboys would be playoff win No. 37, tying the New England Patriots for the most postseason victories in league annals.

On Saturday evening, the Philadelphia Eagles host the New York Giants. The Birds took two from Brian Daboll’s club this season and now look to complete the three-game sweep. Is it really tough to beat a team three times in a season? Since 1970, there have been 24 instances where a team swept a division rival and then met them in the postseason. The club completed the sweep 15 times, the latest being the 49ers over the Seahawks this season.

It’s traditionally been called the best weekend of the NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers will host the Divisional Playoffs. This round of the postseason has undergone many formats over the years. Dating back to 1970, the host teams own a combined 148-60 record – an impressive .712 winning percentage. A year ago, however, three road teams won in this round for the first time since 2008.

Of the eight clubs still remaining in the 2022 playoffs, three franchises – the Buffalo Bills (0-4), Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) and Jacksonville Jaguars (0-0) – are the only remaining clubs that have never won a Super Bowl.
