At the age of twenty-five, these players will cash in with big-money deals that allow for one or two more future paydays.

In the NFL, careers are painfully short, roughly three-and-a-half years. The mantra of ” get in, get paid, get out” should resonate. Yet, the key part of that is getting the money early. As a result, the next wave may not be the biggest names, but impact players abound. Every person on this list will be twenty-five and under when the 2023 season commences.

Josh Jacobs

The best running back in free agency. Still only twenty-five, Jacobs earned the bag. In four years with the Raiders, Jacobs averaged 1185 yards and ten touchdowns. Now, that is not to say the Raiders will not make a legitimate offer, the question remains if Jacobs will accept. Teams like the Chargers, Rams, and Dolphins could hold secondary offers. Jacobs runs hard with agility, power, and balance. Last year, 821 of his league-leading 1653 yards occurred after contact. Now, he will not scare anyone in the passing game, but, he will fight for the tough yards. Free agency will be kind to him.

Devin Bush

Now, the number of potential strings that arrived attached to this signing could make a guitar jealous. While Bush shows the speed, instinct, and playmaking ability you’d expect from a linebacker, drawbacks exist. First, the 2020 knee injury to a while to recover from, which suggests a more severe issue than initially reported. Next, who falls out of favor in Pittsburgh? Mike Tomlin rides for his players. Yet, Bush found himself on the bench, accruing only ten snaps in the final two games. Any litany of teams could thrive with Bush in the backfield. yet, is he mature enough to assume the mantle of responsibility? His market in free agency will be one to watch.

Despite his frame, Love jars the ball loose with force. Opponents need to keep an eye on him where he can dislodge the football. Moreover, shooting downhill, Love drives into the backfield to make the stop against the run. In 2022, Love tallied career highs in tackles, tackles for loss, and interceptions. Someone will open the wallet in free agency.

Tremaine Edmunds

Without a doubt, one of the most coveted defenders in free agency. Somehow, Edmunds enters his sixth season in the NFL. Yet, he doesn’t turn twenty-five until May. Now, what will you receive in return, after paying double-digit millions? Edmunds’ freakish speed for a man that weighs 250 pounds. That burst allows him to surf through trash and make the play versus the run. Concomitantly, his pass coverage greatly improved. In 2022, Edmunds did not surrender a single touchdown in coverage.

NFL free agency can be a nerve-wracking time. However, teams will either build with star power or depth. Either way, March for these players twenty-five and under will be a profitable one.
