The last full week of February brings the hope of an exciting NFL spring. Things will begin to catch fire in a rapid fashion.
At the beginning of this month, known liar/hedgehog Punxatawny Phil proclaimed that winter would hang around for six more weeks. In the NFL, the immediate weeks after the Super Bowl drag on, In a neverending slog, the news and rumors this time of year usually run hand-in-hand. Yet, the snow and cold brought a bit more intrigue than usual.
Please Sit Down
In the years that I’ve covered the NFL Draft and analyzed prospects, this time of year grates on my nerves, for one reason. I despise, with the searing heat of fish grease, many draft analysts. Why? The lack of quality content and effort put into some analysis. For example, ESPN’s Todd McShay, based on nothing but speculation, decided to assail Georgia DT Jalen Carter’s character. Why? Did Georgia dismiss Carter? Does anything concrete exist? If you listen to scouts or watch the fact that Carter, beloved by teammates and opponents never gave that impression. Breath Of Fresh Air

Without hesitation, the stuffy, stiff, nose-in-the-air feeling of some continues to rain on the parade. ” What about the ratings?” I don’t work for a network/advertiser. I hang my shingle here at Full Press Coverage. As a result, I don’t care about Nielsen, demographics, or any of that clownery. Excitement and innovation. For instance, lining up the kick return and coverage teams ten yards apart will spur returns and lessen the built-up impact speed. The skycam was used as a main camera angle in the XFL back in 2001. Today, the NFL uses technology extensively. So, instead of looking sideways at the XFL/USFL, give them a chance.
Receivers Look Normal
For the longest time, NFL wide receivers earned the title of divas with peculiar behavior. Yesterday, Aaron Rodgers emerged from his sabbatical in a four-hundred-foot hole. If it helps him gain clarity, fine. However, why does the press need to know? In this instance, it seems more like a decision wrapped in a thirst for attention. Regardless of the decision, the entire situation looks rather weird. Why not make a decision away from the microphones?
