The first quarterback domino has fallen this NFL offseason.
According to several outlets, former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is set to sign with the New Orleans Saints. It is reportedly a four-year deal.

Carr spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Raiders where he found some success but ultimately fell short of any career accolade. He is hoping to find that with New Orleans and in the NFC South. In nine seasons with the Raiders, Carr led Oakland/Las Vegas to a 63-79 record while completing 64.6 percent of his passes for 35,222 yards, 217 touchdowns, and 99 interceptions.
Carr’s best season came in 2016 when he was 12-3 until a leg injury derailed his and the Raiders’ season and very well ended a strong MVP bid by Carr. He and the Raiders finished above .500 just once after that season.

For the Saints, after four-straight seasons of double-digit wins and first-place NFC South finishes, the last two seasons have been a struggle in the post-Drew Brees era. They have used several quarterbacks over the past two seasons including Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton, and Taysom Hill as they have been a very mediocre 16-18 in that time.
However, given the current state of the division and the quarterbacks (or lack thereof), the Saints immediately move to the top of the NFC South hierarchy with Carr and an offense that includes a budding star like Chris Olave. Carr also reunites with Dennis Allen who was the Raiders’ head coach when he was drafted in 2014.
