The 2023 College Football season begins Saturday. We here at Full Press Coverage are ramping up our college football coverage this season. Already we have given you the betting odds for the 2024 National Championship. As well as the first preseason AP Top 25 Poll. Full Press Coverage then ramped things up even more by looking at the top five storylines heading into the start of the season. Now we will go conference by conference, looking at the odds of who will play each conference championship game. Next up, the Big Ten.
Every year in the Big Ten, it comes down to the teams in the Big Ten East Ohio St., Michigan, and Penn St. This year will be no different. Jim Harbaugh saved his job at Michigan thanks to two big wins against Ohio St, leading the Wolverines to win back-to-back Big Ten titles and go to the college football playoff two years in a row. However, Harbaugh’s team fell in the semifinals twice. Outside of these three teams, the odds are long even for teams in the West.
Let’s take a look at who can go to the Big Ten Championship game and be crowned conference champions.
Big Ten Championship: It Comes Down To Ohio St-Michigan
Odds to Win the Big Ten (via Covers)
Ohio St.
+165
Michigan
+170
Penn St.
+600
Wisconsin
+750
Go back to when the Big Ten decided to have one conference champion in 2007 and you will see Ohio St. domination. Even when there weren’t two divisions and multiple conference champions, the Buckeyes were right there. Outside of 2011 and 2012, when Wisconsin won the Big Ten championship, it has been all Buckeyes. Now, Penn St. and Michigan St. each won a title in there before Michigan’s current run, but the Big Ten has belonged to the Buckeyes and the Big Ten East.

Ep 134: NFL Week 2 Studs And Duds
by Full Press Coverage on September 20, 2023 at 7:07 pm
The team that comes out of the East usually crushes the team in the West when the Big Ten heads to Indy for Championship Saturday. As expected, Ryan Day’s club is +165 to win the conference with Michigan right behind them at +170. Again it will come down to the last game of the regular season to see who gets to go to Indy. As we saw last year, that might not mean elimination from the playoffs, but it usually does.

Michigan has won back-to-back Big Ten titles but could not close the deal in the College Football Playoffs. Many are wondering if this is Harbaugh’s last season there considering the allegations being thrown around. However, the Wolverines have a really good team that can compete with Ohio St.
You can never count out James Franklin’s bunch, especially if they find a way to pull the upset over their rivals Michigan and Ohio St. Don’t forget Michigan St. sometimes throws a monkey wrench into this thing as well.
Outside of the Big 3 of the Big Ten, look for Luke Fickell’s Wisconsin Badgers to have a good season. We have seen what Fickell did with Cincinnati. He is an excellent coach and knows how to recruit, this could be the best chance for a team from the West to win the conference.
Iowa is a longer shot at +1200, but they have a transfer at QB former Michigan QB Cade McNamara which should make the offense better. Then there is Matt Rhule at Nebraska. Rhule knows how to turn programs around. Since Nebraska left the Big 12 for the Big Ten, they have struggled. They hope Rhule is the guy to fix the program.
Until proven otherwise, expect Michigan to return to the Big Ten Championship Game.
