Ravens set initial 53-man roster

The Baltimore Ravens made their final roster moves to set their initial 53-man roster.

Players Waived by Baltimore

Tarik Black, Anthony Brown, Tykeem Doss, Tae Hayes, Kyu Kelly, Jeremy Lucien, Tashawn Manning, Ben Mason, Jeremiah Moon, Rayshad Nichols, James Proche II, Josh Ross, Sean Ryan, Jaylon Thomas, Travis Vokolek, Kristian Welch, and Owen Wright.

Contracts Terminated by the Ravens

Angelo Blackson, Melvin Gordon III, Josh Johnson, Sam Mustipher, Kevon Seymour, David Sharpe, Laquon Treadwell, Brent Urban, and Daryl Worley.

Melvin Gordon and Josh Johnson were always going to have a tough time making this Ravens team. Johnson and Anthony Brown were unable to unseat Tyler Huntley as Lamar Jackson’s primary backup. Johnson had a lesser chance to do so than Brown but was still unable to do so. Gordon was worth a look in Baltimore’s mind, but there was not any room in their backfield. The Ravens will feature J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards as their primary ballcarriers alongside Jackson.

Placed on Reserve/Non-Football Injury list

Tyus Bowser, Nick Moore, and Andrew Vorhees.

Andrew Vorhees tore his ACL at the NFL Scouting Combine and will miss significant time. Tyus Bowser has a knee issue, which has led to him being limited this off-season. Nick Moore suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the entire 2023 season.
