AP Top 25 College Football Poll: Texas Jumps Into the Top 5

The 2023 College Football season is underway. We here at Full Press Coverage are ramping up our college football coverage this season. We have lots of great content this season, including the weekly AP Top 25 Poll. And there is a lot of movement this week inside the latest rankings as Week 2 of the season came and went.

Two weeks into the College Football season, Colorado continues to be the talk of the town. What the Buffaloes are doing is great. Colorado found a way to overcome a tough Nebraska squad moved up from 22 to 18 in the latest rankings. If they win with style this week against Colorado St., it could be a top-15 matchup when Colorado heads to Eugene to face the Oregon Ducks in a few weeks.

Georgia remains number one, with Michigan right behind them at number two. But Florida St. moved up two spots to number 3 as Alabama fell to 10. Texas slides into the fourth spot, jumping seven spots after their big win against Alabama on Saturday night.

The Longhorns have a shot to win the Big 12 this season. The question is who is coming out of the SEC West to face Georgia.USC goes to five after they keep winning and now Notre Dame is into the Top 10 at nine after their road victory at NC State.

And how about the Pac-12? A conference that gets no love has one loss through the first two weeks of the season with eight teams in the Top 25 including two teams in the top 10. Not bad for a conference in the final year of existence. Obviously, USC and Washington lead the way, but Utah and Oregon and are not far behind.

Going through the rest of the poll, we see Iowa back into the Top 25. They should have never left last week. Tulane drops out with their loss to Ole Miss. Miami is into the poll at 22 after their home victory against Texas A&M. Even though North Carolina won, they dropped three spots from the previous poll. And for the first time in a long time, Clemson is out of the Top 25 poll. What a difference a year makes for the Tigers.
