Bengals Named One Of NFL’s Most Disappointing Teams

For the second straight year, the Cincinnati Bengals have stumbled out of the gate, and with it comes the classification of being a disappointing team. That is at least according to Bleacher Report’s David Kenyon.

Kenyon’s recently published Ranking Most Disappointing Teams After Week 3 of 2023 NFL Season article includes the Bengals. Coming in as the second most disappointing team after three weeks is Cincinnati. Kenyon acknowledged it was not their second consecutive 0-2 start that found them in this spot but rather how they got there.

Burrow is still clearly hurt, and it is impacting his performance on the field. This is a team that requires a certain level of quarterback play if they are to be successful. And right now, that simply is not happening. The Bengals need Burrow to resemble his former self as soon as possible if they are going to be relevant as the season progresses.

While there were some encouraging signs in Monday night’s win over the Rams, this was more of a product of a collaborative effort rather than one driven by the quarterback. The offense is still very much a work in progress, and time is running out for them to figure it out. Cincinnati may not reach the heights many expected of them offensively this season due to Burrow’s calf, but there has to be some middle-ground that they can find between where they are now and where they need to be because this is not a sustainable way for a team to win games consistently.
