We heard the rumblings. However, we were not sure it was going to truly happen. But on Sunday night October 1st, inside Climate Pledge Arena at AEW WrestleDream, The Rated R Superstar Adam Copeland (Edge) became All Elite.

This moment was four years in the making as Tony Khan wanted Adam Copeland/Edge for the very first Dynamite back in 2019. However, Edge being the loyal guy he was went back to WWE for one more run with the company after he was forced to retire.
On the fourth anniversary of AEW Dynamite, Adam Copeland/Edge will be there.
The moment was surreal watching live late on a Sunday night on the East Coast. Once Darby Allin and Christian Cage were put into the main event slot you knew this was a possibility of happening. Not to mention you saw the reports of Adam Copeland’s contract expriring on September 30th. The day before AEW WrestleDream.
And WWE knew this was a possibility as well. After Edge’s final match in Toronto on Smackdown for WWE, internally the company knew he could leave. There was nothing more that Edge could do there for them. He was taken off the internal rosters, and speculation grew and grew with this pay-per-view coming up.
Instead of Bryan Danielson vs. Zach Sabre Jr., which was a good match, AEW made the right call putting Darby Allin and Christian Cage in the main event. This was an excellent match. They told a story. It was a great moment for Darby to headline a PPV for the company. Not to mention this was the second straight event where the World Championship was not defended or in the main event.
Recall that Orange Cassidy and Jon Moxley were in the main event of All Out for the International Championship. Now, the TNT Championship was in the spotlight.

We all thought Darby was going to get his glory but it was Nick Wayne the other prodigal son of Seattle, Washington, who turned on him, aligning with Christian. Wayne hit Allin with the TNT Title to allow Christian to retain the belt.
A brawl ensued that saw the heels of Cage, Wayne, and Luchasaurus beat up Allin. Sting tried to protect Darby, but the numbers were too much for him. As soon as Cage was about to hit a conchairto on Sting, the lights went out, a video played, and Copeland emerged to even the odds.

In his post-event media scrum, Adam Copeland said:
This is all I ever wanted to do and this feels like an opporunity to come in, and not come in every three months. Im going to be there every week. Im’s a full time guy. I want to do that for as long as that is possible. I feel that i can help the most.
Adam Copeland will be on Dynamite this week. And on Title Tuesday, October 10th, he takes on Luchasaurus.
