The 2023 College Football season is underway. We here at Full Press Coverage are ramping up our college football coverage this season. We have lots of great content this season, including the weekly AP Top 25 Poll. And there is a lot of movement this week inside the latest rankings as Week 5 of the season came and went.
Another big week in college football. Not as many ranked versus ranked games, but there are still a lot of quality games being played within each conference, especially the Pac-12. However, there were still four ranked versus ranked games inside the AP Top 25 poll.
There were eyes on several highly anticipated games, especially between Notre Dame and Duke, which was a rebound game for the Fighting Irish. There were several notable teams that were off, including Ohio St. and Miami. Both of those teams were able to move up because of their wins in the previous weeks.
While Georgia remains the number one team in the poll, they may not be the best team in the nation. Michigan and Texas are showing they are really close to taking over the number one ranking. But again until the Georgia Bulldogs falter, the two-time defending national champions are number one.
There are six teams from the Pac-12 still in the AP Poll. This conference may get two teams out of it into the playoff, but you have to expect one of those teams will have a loss. Again, Georgia probably should have fallen because of their poor play, but did not unlike USC, who slipped a spot. That defense is not championship level and that game with Colorado was closer than it needed to be. Washington and Oregon are in front of USC.

Going through the rest of the poll, Notre Dame and Alabama were able to rise up the rankings. The Fighting Irish hold the number 10 ranking in the land with the Crimson Tide right behind them. Oklahoma and Texas face off this coming week, a great game that will determine a lot. Oregon State climbs back up as Utah falls, and there is Washington State quietly sneaking closer to the Top 10. Kentucky continues its climb remaining unbeaten as Ole Miss gets a big win against LSU—still, a lot to be decided.
