In the first episode of the Bleeding Green Podcast on the Full Press Coverage Radio Network, host, Michael Pallas breaks down the draft needs of the New York Jets and no, a quarterback is not one of them.
Despite the talk of the New York Jets needing a franchise quarterback, they shouldn’t be targeting one in the 2018 NFL Draft. Josh Rosen and Sam Darnold will likely be gone by the time the Jets select at no. 6 overall, and Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen are not quarterbacks you can build your team around. The Jets need to focus on rebuilding the defense and special teams because those were lacking as well in 2017. If they can build a Super Bowl caliber defense the offense can be just average and win.
