Jones never made a NFL appearance for Miami, but has 11 career appearances: one with Houston and 10 with Detroit. after spending the offseason and training camp with Detroit. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent to the Dallas Cowboys in May 2016.
WR Terry Wright
Wright was also an undrafted free agent in 2019. He joined the Seattle Seahawks organization before landing on the Dolphins’ practice squad on Nov. 27, 2019. Although he spent the offseason and training camp with Seattle, he had a short stint in Pittsburgh before landing in South Florida.
CB Linden Stephens
Stephens was also signed by Miami from Seattle in 2019. In December, Stephens appeared in three games and had three solo tackles. Before landing with the Seahawks, he spent the offseason and training camp with the Denver Broncos after the New Orleans Saints brought him into the league in early May 2018.
Stephens also did not clear waivers, as Seattle re-claimed him prior to him becoming a free agent.
DE Gerald Willis
Finally, Willis was promoted to Miami’s active roster on Nov. 20, 2019 and played in two games. He made two assisted tackles in his short time with the Dolphins. He also entered the league undrafted in 2019 and spent his offseason and training camp in Baltimore.
Like Davis II, Willis also did not clear waivers. He was also scooped up by the Packers.
The moves likely come with Miami needing to clear space for its upcoming 2020 NFL Draft picks.
