When New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is asked about his injured players, he typically refers to the team’s injury report. He also tends to be as vague as possible.
The thing is, there are no injury reports for offseason workouts. So does that allow Belichick to provide very little information on how his players are doing? Normally, I would say yes, however, Belichick took a somewhat different approach today when it came to a health question about quarterback Cam Newton. In fact, he provided some real insight.

“He’s doing alright,” Belichick said, via Jeff Howe of The Athletic. “He won’t be out there today but it’s nothing serious. . . . He’ll be alright.”
Newton suffered his hand injury last week after an 11-on-11 drill. His absence means more first-team work for quarterback Mac Jones and Jarrett Stidham. It sounds like Newton will miss minicamp next week. If that’s the case, we may not see Newton until training camp.
