The Jacksonville Jaguars, down seventeen at one point, clawed back to hand another depressing loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
In a world, more specifically a league where talent shines, the Las Vegas Raiders remained dull. Losing a seventeen-point lead, falling to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 27-20. With a record that fell to 2-6, the Raiders continue to spiral. 2022 looks like yet another lost season, among so many.
Tell Me Why
At the end of the first thirty minutes of play, the Raiders put twenty points on the scoreboard. Davante Adams torched the Jaguars for 146 yards and two scores. In the second half, the offense disappeared. Derek Carr missed multiple throws. The offensive line failed to assert its authority at the line of scrimmage. Moreover, the playcalling could not generate any consistent downfield movement. Granted, Josh McDaniels runs the offense, but the players need to execute. Everyone failed today.

Defensive Lapses
What became of the pass rush this season? Chandler Jones appears absent, except on payday when that direct deposit hits. The interior of the line offers no push up front. Maxx Crosby looked mired in the mud today. Jacksonville’s line shut the Raiders’ pass rush completely out. Trevor Lawrence looked too comfortable. No sacks, and no interceptions, will always signify a strong day. Furthermore, Travis Etienne lugged the ball twenty-eight times for 109 yards and two touchdowns. If you are honest, you must admit that Patrick Graham’s defense cannot hold a lead. All of the preseason, multiple-defense talking needs to cease. The Raiders need to focus on mastering one defense.
Season Saving Moves?
At this point, the Las Vegas Raiders will just play out the string. For as many people that proclaimed this section of the schedule as the easiest, the team keeps faltering. As a result, nothing saves this season. The offense can’t finish. The defense possesses the energy of a dollar-store battery. The quarterback will sit there and make just as many excuses as his followers will. Mark Davis will yell at an assistant, instead of looking in the mirror at the root cause of the rampant organizational collapse. Winning usually has many fathers and losing is an orphan. For the Las Vegas Raiders, losing needs to hurt enough to affect some sort of meaningful changes on both sides of the ball.
