With starting right tackle Jack Conklin out for the season, the Cleveland Browns made some moves to bolster their offensive line depth.
The team elevated a familiar face from the practice squad, signing Michael Dunn to their active roster. It is a logical move for the Browns as they are very familiar with Dunn. Dunn has appeared in 28 career games for the Browns in his three-year career.

Taking Dunn’s spot on Cleveland’s practice squad is veteran lineman Ty Nsekhe. The 37-year-old tackle has appeared in 103 games since 2012, most of which came during his four years spent in Washington (54). Nsekhe played for the Los Angeles Rams last season, including a career-high eight starts. This was another smart move by the Browns’ front office and coaching staff, as there are many similarities between the offensive schemes of Sean McVay and Kevin Stefanski. Nsekhe being familiar with the nuances of the offense will come in handy if elevated to the active roster.
Rookie tackle Dawand Jones has been thrust into action much earlier than anticipated due to Conklin’s injury. Should he struggle or any other injuries occur along Cleveland’s offensive line, it is best to have options who can fill in as needed, and that is what they brought to their roster in Dunn and Nsekhe.
