As the Cleveland Browns enter their bye week, it appears that their season is in the beginning stages of unraveling. Making an appearance on 92.3 The Fan, The Athletic’s Jason Lloyd stated the series of events that led to Deshaun Watson not playing did not sit well in the locker room.
According to Lloyd, Watson told everyone all week that he was going to play against the Ravens. Watson then decided before kickoff that he was not playing, leading to their lopsided loss to Baltimore. The last-minute decision to not play after saying that he was going to all week led to the aggravation of some players. It is easy to understand why some of these players felt this way. Being led to believe that Watson was going to play and choosing not to at the last moment possible would be infuriating.

The unfortunate part of all this for the Browns is that they are on their bye week. Not having a game this week will only result in this story lasting much longer than anyone would prefer. How Cleveland lost to Baltimore is not helping either. If the game was closer or at least somewhat competitive, this story would die rather quickly. But with the way things played out this past Sunday, this still be a story that will linger for the remainder of the season.
