It appears that there is a good chance the Baltimore Ravens will have wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. available when they take on the Los Angeles Chargers. According to a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Beckham will attempt to play Sunday night. While he is listed as questionable and the word attempt was used, it sounds like most people in Baltimore expect Beckham to take the field.
This would be a welcome development for a Ravens offense down one of its best weapons. Baltimore lost tight end Mark Andrews due to a season-ending injury, taking away one of the few weapons in the passing game for Lamar Jackson. Passing the ball is going to be much more difficult for Jackson the rest of the way without Andrews. The 28-year-old tight end is one of Jackson’s favorite targets, and there is no replacing the chemistry between the two.

It is going to be about identifying players Jackson can rely on moving forward. The hope is that Beckham can channel his playmaking ability from earlier in his career. While the explosiveness is not the same, his feel for finding soft spots in coverage remains. This particular skill could help out in an area that Andrews has repeatedly been successful in.
Beckham has 24 receptions for 374 yards and two touchdowns this season. The 31-year-old veteran is coming off his best game of the season, hauling in four targets for 116 yards and a score. Beckham has done the bulk of his damage in the last three weeks, and it would be encouraging to keep that going into the bye.
