The Cleveland Browns have not had good luck when it comes to the health of their offensive tackles this season, and that is continuing with the loss of rookie Dawand Jones. Jones will require season-ending surgery on his knee injury, per head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Cleveland is now in a situation where they are without their top three offensive tackles. Jack Conklin was lost for the year in Week 1, while Jedrick Wills has been out since early November. Jones was thrust into action following Conklin’s injury and has played much better than anticipated. The rookie tackle out of Ohio State did play well in the preseason, but that is far from an accurate representation of how someone will perform when the games actaully count.

Without their top three tackles, Cleveland must rely on their fourth and fifth options. It will be James Hudson and Geron Christian the rest of the way, barring an addition of note. The Browns have somehow managed to work around not having their best linemen, but that may not last much longer. There comes a time when the talent level drops so much that it is too much to overcome. Considering that the offense has been decimated across the board with injuries, that time could be coming soon.
The Browns are on a trajectory to make the postseason, but continuing to lose key players could make their playoff appearance (if they qualify) being rather short. There is still a path for Cleveland, although it is going to be more difficult than it already was.
