Welcome to another edition of Full Press Hockey’s NHL Rumors! The focus has shifted toward the new season. Teams are always looking to improve, and the excitement of a new NHL season is upon us. With the American Thanksgiving used as a gauge for playoff contention, the rumors are hot and heavy!
In this Wednesday edition of NHL Rumors, we’ll examine the Toronto Maple Leafs, Anaheim Ducks, and the Chicago Blackhawks.
NHL rumors in this edition include:
Will a proposed blockbuster trade go down between the Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets? Could the Ducks trade Trevor Zegras? Jason Dickinson trade rumors.
Toronto Maple Leafs – Big blockbuster trade proposal
Rumor: Per – James Tanner – editorinleaf.com. Can this huge blockbuster trade proposal actually happen?
It’s common knowledge that the Maple Leafs are looking to improve their blueline. They have plenty of offensive firepower to go around. In fact, there have been multiple NHL rumors that the team is considering trading William Nylander. The proposed trade written about by Tanner is broken down as follows:
Anaheim Ducks – Trevor Zegras
Rumor: Per – Rob Ellis – nhltraderumor.com. Zegras, who hasn’t played for a month due to injury, may be the odd man out in Anaheim.
Much of the speculation on Zegras’ future in Anaheim could be due to the emergence of rookie centers Leo Carlsson and Mason McTavish. Add in that the Ducks may have a shot at the first overall selection projected to be Macklin Celebrini, who has 10 goals and 15 assists in 15 games at Boston University. That would mean Zegras may not have a spot on the roster. There’s no doubt that the youthful Zegras possesses uncommon talent.

His injury status has hurt his ability to show off that talent and he could become a trade target because of it. He only has one goal and one assist in the 12 games he has participated in, and being a holdout so late has perhaps caused him some difficulties. There’s no doubt that if the Ducks decide to trade him, they will get a good return. At this point, it may be a wait-and-see situation to see if he comes back from his injury.

Chicago Blackhawks – Jason Dickinson
Rumor: Rob Couch – nhltraderumors.me. Speculation over trading Dickinson has grown.
Dickinson, 28, could be an excellent rental player for a playoff-bound team. He has collected nine goals and 15 points this season on a lowly Blackhawk club. Dickinson earns $2.65 million and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. He is a solid third-line contributor and should gain some interest around the league. The Hawks could even retain some of his salary and then allow some of their younger players the ice time they deserve to develop.
Dickinson was dealt on October 7, 2022, by the Vancouver Canucks with 2nd round draft pick in 2024 to the Chicago Blackhawks for Riley Stillman. It’s obvious that even with Connor Bedard the Blackhawks are still rebuilding and a player like Dickinson has some trade value that they should investigate to augment their rebuilding efforts.
