To say the Pittsburgh Steelers have overhauled their roster is an understatement. The organization has seen big-time changes on both sides of the ball. The result? Being named as one of the most transformed teams in the NFL.
Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport produced a list, Ranking the NFL Teams Most Transformed by 2024 Free Agency, with the Steelers making an appearance midway through. Coming in at number four is Pittsburgh, behind only Tennessee, Houston, and Atlanta.

When evaluating Pittsburgh’s offseason and their very different-looking quarterback room, it is hardly a surprise to see them in the top half of this list. The Steelers moved on from Kenny Pickett after two years and let Mason Rudolph walk in free agency. Taking their place are Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, two quarterbacks who have similar playing styles which could allow for a succession plan if things go right.
It is not just the changes at quarterback that resulted in Pittsburgh’s entry here. Signing Patrick Queen away from the Baltimore Ravens was a huge addition to their defense. Being able to sign a high-volume tackle away from a division rival is no small feat. This is a move that should pay dividends for Pittsburgh’s defense right from the start.
Will these moves end up working for Pittsburgh? No one can say yes or no definitively. However, the organization identified a couple of areas that needed improvement and made moves in an attempt to rectify that issue. This speaks volumes about the way the Steelers operate, with it potentially boding quite well for their organizational future.
