Position: Quarterback
School: Western Kentucky
Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 225 lbs
Projected: 4th – Undrafted
Stats:
Bio:
Mike White was a high school All-American in baseball. He then led his high school football team to a state title. White played two season for South Florida before transferring to Western Kentucky. He struggled playing for the Bulls but thrived in the Hilltoppers wide open offense. He was named to the second team All-Conference USA both seasons at Western Kentucky. White was invited to the Senior Bowl where scouts were able to see his performance when not running from defenders on every play. During the pre-draft process, White has seen his stock rise from a possible undrafted projection into a late round pick.
Team Fit:
White has the prototypical quarterback build. He has the arm and played in a wide open offense in college. The Cardinals have Sam Bradford and Mike Glennon on the roster, giving the team a chance to go after a project who can sit and learn for a season and full offseason. White is a project and won’t be ready to contribute in his rookie year. If Bruce Arians were still head coach, the Cardinals would be furiously circling White on their boards. This is taking a flier on a late round quarterback who can throw the football.

Strengths:
Film shows a very strong-arm. Throwing power allows for throws into tight coverage. Shows to be an accurate passer, completing 57 percent of his deep throws. Able to drop ball over defenders deep and to the outside. Throws the deep ball very well. Does a good job of adjusting touch and velocity to fit throws between different levels. Solid footwork in the pocket which allows to drive throws. Will reset feet when throwing outside the pocket. Subsequent interviews have shown he was often asked to read the full field as opposed to cutting down to a single side during time at Western Kentucky. When in rhythm can make any throw.
Weaknesses:
White is not a very mobile quarterback. Pass rush can cause his eyes to move away from the field and focus on the oncoming defender. Struggles with pulling off throws when contact is imminent. Slow to get feet set after the snap. Needs to get better with moving around in pocket. Relies on arm strength too often rather than anticipating throws. Struggles with ball protection, fumbled 17 times over two years at Western Kentucky. Needs to improve ability to roll out-of-pocket. Will lock onto a receiver rather than move to next read.
