In Harry’s defense, he had a different starting quarterback in each of his three seasons in New England. He was drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft and his rookie season turned out to be Tom Brady‘s final season with the Patriots. A combination of Cam Newton, Brian Hoyer, and Jarrett Stidham were under center in 2020, and rookie Mac Jones took the reigns last year.
Now, that is not an excuse for Harry who never really caught on no matter who was throwing the ball. After three seasons, the Patriots have apparently seen enough. In his final season in New England, Harry had just 12 receptions for 184 yards in 12 games. The Arizona St. product now gets a fresh start in Chicago with second-year quarterback, Justin Fields.
Harry became even more expendable with the team’s signing of Davante Parker earlier in the offseason. Parker joins a group that includes Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, Jakobi Meyers, and both tight ends, Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith. In addition to moving on from the wide receiver, the Patriots pick up roughly $1 million in cap space.
