The bright lights of Sunday Night Football were not too much for the Cincinnati Bengals as they held on for a 24-18 win over the Buffalo Bills. This was Cincinnati’s fourth consecutive win, the third straight over a playoff-caliber team.
Joe Burrow Leads The Way
Any and all concerns about the health of Joe Burrow can be put away. Burrow completed 31 of 44 pass attempts for 348 yards and two touchdowns. The Bengals’ signal caller was able to lead three touchdown drives in the first half, the non-pass variety coming on an 11-play 69-yard effort capped off by Joe Mixon. Being able to put up 21 points in the first half was an impressive effort from Cincinnati’s franchise quarterback.
Burrow has now thrown for more than 250 yards in four of his last six outings, including 280+ in three of his last four. This comes while completing 65%+ of his passes in five of six games. It is no wonder why the Bengals have managed to go 5-1 during this stretch and returning to being a factor in the tough AFC North.

Best Game Of The Year For Tee Higgins
It was only a matter of time before Tee Higgins was going to have this type of game. The Clemson product was able to haul in eight passes for a season-high 110 yards in Sunday night’s win. While Higgins’ 69 yards on six catches the week prior was encouraging, the fact his total over the previous three games was just six receptions for 60 yards did lead to some doubt regarding which trend was real. Luckily for the Bengals, the upward trend would win out.
Up Next For The Bengals
Cincinnati will take on the Houston Texans in Week 10, presenting an opportunity to win their fifth straight game and sixth in their last seven. However, a win is far from a guarantee, considering C.J. Stroud’s record-setting performance this past Sunday. The Bengals could certainly have their hands full with Houston’s rookie signal-caller figuring things out on the fly.
