WWE SmackDown airs tonight, Friday, September 25, at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT on USA Network in the United States. The show comes from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A United States Championship defense gives this week’s episode an immediate attraction: Trick Williams puts the title on the line against Baron Corbin in a Steel Cage Match.

The advertised lineup also includes men’s and women’s Money in the Bank qualifiers, giving several contenders an opportunity to move closer to a future championship challenge.

What Time Does WWE SmackDown Start Tonight?

WWE lists the television start at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT. For viewers planning their evening around the live broadcast, that is the time to use.

Fans attending in person should note that Gainbridge Fieldhouse lists a 7:30 p.m. event start and 6 p.m. doors. Those are the arena’s local times and are separate from the television start.

What Channel Is SmackDown On, and How Can You Stream It?

USA Network carries SmackDown in the United States, as confirmed by WWE’s viewing guide. Look for USA in your cable, satellite or live-TV streaming package; the channel number depends on your provider.

Viewers with an eligible television subscription can also use the USA Network app. Its official app listing says live streaming is available after signing in with a supported TV provider. Make sure your subscription includes USA and check the schedule for the feed supplied by your service.

For international viewers, SmackDown streams on Netflix in supported countries. Availability depends on location. Netflix’s SmackDown viewing guide identifies its coverage as being outside the United States, so a U.S. Netflix subscription is not the way to watch tonight’s live episode.

Why Williams vs. Corbin Matters

Williams and Corbin have already traded the United States Championship during their rivalry. WWE’s preview notes that Corbin captured it at SummerSlam before Williams regained it at Sunday Night’s Main Event.

The cage adds another obstacle to Williams’ attempt to move beyond Corbin. Retaining would allow him to carry the championship forward while pursuing another opportunity; losing would immediately change the direction of his title reign.

Williams also has a Money in the Bank spot secured. He defeated Randy Orton and Rey Fenix in last week’s qualifying match, creating the possibility of arriving at the ladder match with the United States title still in his possession.

CM Punk Enters With Unfinished Business

Punk’s involvement in last week’s main event adds another story to follow tonight. He struck Kevin Owens with the Undisputed WWE Championship, helping Sami Zayn retain, then attacked both men with the GTS after the match.

That finish leaves a question hanging over Punk’s next appearance: how will Owens and Zayn respond?

The qualifier gives Punk an immediate objective in the ring. Any fallout from last week would add another complication to a match in which he already has two opponents to account for.
