After a hard fought New York Jets victory in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Gang Green will look to keep the momentum rolling against an atrocious Denver Broncos team.
While this matchup could very well be a “trap” game for the Jets, they are currently favored over the Broncos. With the recent news of quarterback Trevor Siemian getting the start for Denver, initial odds are in the hands of the Jets.
If the Jets hope to prevail and secure their second straight victory, there are a few players they will need to step it up. Here are some players to keep an eye on as we approach Sunday’s game:
The Receiving Duo: Kearse and Anderson
It was some week for Jermaine Kearse and Robby Anderson in Week 13. Kearse had a phenomenal game, catching nine of his 10 passes for 157 receiving yards, including two that went for 40+ yards. His highlight of the game was when he caught a pass one handed on a clutch third down. Robby also had a good game with eight catches for 107 yards. Robby’s eyesight, hands, and obviously – his breakaway speed, have helped him grow into a very consistent receiver this season.

But now for Week 14, the Jets get a matchup against a struggling Denver Broncos squad. Their defense has not been the same under Vance Joseph; the secondary hasn’t been shut down and feared like it was the last couple of seasons. Kearse and Anderson are definitely players to keep your eye on in this game. While Aqib Talib and Chris Harris Jr. may present some difficulty for the Jets passing game, it will be unlikely that they are able to shut down both Anderson and Kearse. Expect the two to make their mark this week as the Broncos struggle to defend both the deep ball and short yardage game.
After starting the season on a poor note, mainly because of a wrist injury, Leonard Williams has since rebounded. He hasn’t been getting a ton of sacks, but he is making his presence felt. Williams has gotten into the backfield and has gotten 26 quarterback hits, affecting comfort and causing opposing quarterbacks to rush throws. Each week Leonard is returning to him old self. Now in Week 14, he gets a great matchup against a horrific Broncos offensive line. They have given up the 3rd most sacks in the league (39). If Williams is going to get a sack in any of these weeks, it would be this one. I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot of Leonard Williams on Sunday.
Jets DL Leonard Williams has only two sacks, but he's playing his best ball in recent weeks. His "QB hits" total… https://t.co/4yqLJTC0fF

The rookie safety has been one of the leaders on defense this season, hyping up the crowd and the defense. In Week 13, Jamal Adams almost had a pick on the Chiefs last play of the game on 4th down but dropped it. It was still a great play with tremendous effort by Adams though. Throughout the season, he has had up and down games. When the Jets played the Panthers two weeks ago, Adams got beat a couple out times and he missed a crucial tackle which went for big gain from Christian McCaffrey. But now in Week 14, I fully expect this will be his best game of the season. Adams should get his first career interception against a turnover friendly quarterback Trevor Siemian. Your eye will be caught by Adams in this game, stay tuned.
