Week 9 of the College Football season is in the books, and this weekend, on November 7th, several big matchups will determine the fate of many teams in the College Football Playoff. Speaking of the College Football Playoff, the first rankings drop this Tuesday. However, the October 31st weekend saw the number two team, the Ohio State Buckeyes, fall. Something about being number two makes a team cursed.
Ohio State doesn’t look like the same team without Julian Sayin, but we’ll get into that another time. Indiana survived a scare from Minnesota as both the Gophers and Hoosiers hit 60-yard field goals on back-to-back drives to send the game to overtime. Meanwhile, (19) SMU goes down to Syracuse, and Northwestern blows a 20-6 lead as the Oregon Ducks rally to win 34-26 to beat their former coach Chip Kelly.
No. 1 team in the nation, the Miami Hurricanes, survived as the North Carolina Tar Heels put up a fight to lose by three points. Maybe the Hurricanes were looking ahead to their matchup with Notre Dame, but that is two out of three weeks where they could have been beaten.
You can argue that the Georgia Bulldogs should occupy the top spot after their dismantling of the Florida Gators in “The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.” The Bulldogs are clicking on all cylinders as UCLA and Utah have climbed into the top five.
Welcome to the fourth edition of Full Press Coverage’s College Football Top 25 rankings. Do you agree that the Miami Hurricanes should be ranked number one in Full Press Coverage power rankings?
