Week 8 of the College Football season is in the books, and while it wasn’t like the previous two weekends, some big upsets still hit the AP Top 25, including the BYU Cougars, Ole Miss Rebels, and Texas Tech Red Raiders. Other teams ranked in the AP Top 25 also fell, including the Tennessee Volunteers, Iowa Hawkeyes, USC Trojans, and Houston Cougars, in a battle of Top 25 teams against the Utah Utes.
It feels like who is No. 2 in the nation has been going down recently. That is back-to-back weeks that the No. 2 team has fallen. However, the No. 1 team in the nation, the Miami Hurricanes, looked like the number one team in College Football.
Each week is unpredictable, as teams coming off emotional wins can’t follow it up the next week and get caught by their next opponent. It will be interesting to see whether this trend can continue, especially with some of the top teams off.
Welcome to the third edition of Full Press Coverage’s College Football Top 25 rankings. Is it any surprise that the Miami Hurricanes are No. 1 in our power rankings, matching the AP Top 25? With BYU going down and the Hurricanes dominating Pittsburgh on Saturday, this was an easy choice.
But that doesn’t mean BYU fell far from the top after a close loss to UCF. Could there be surprises people didn’t see coming, since Full Press Coverage has its own guidelines for ranking teams? Do you agree with these Power Rankings?
