The Washington Redskins have officially moved on from Junior Galette with the signing of Pernell McPhee who was released by the Bears this offseason.
Jordan Schultz was the first who reported the news of McPhee announcing his decision to sign with the Skins over the Falcons who showed high interest in him and just had a meeting earlier this week.
Pernell McPhee has informed the #Falcons that he plans to sign with the #Redskins, per a source. Not a certainty that the edge rusher will head to Washington, but it certainly looks that way.

Knee issues:
There are some injury concerns when evaluating McPhee. Such as his knees and if he can actually stay healthy. If he can stay healthy, then he will give the Skins the explosiveness they need on the outside from the linebacker spot.
McPhee can also provide depth in the run game for the Skins along with Zach Brown, but again this all is if he is healthy.
With the Ravens, McPhee tallied 17 sacks while only missing four games in four seasons. However, the transition to Chicago would not go over as smoothly as in three seasons he would miss 12 games and only accumulate 14 sacks from 2015-2017, ending his tenure as a Bear.
After visiting with the Redskins on Monday, by Tuesday the team had offered McPhee a contract.
The #Redskins have made an official offer to edge rusher Pernell McPhee, per a league source. McPhee visited yesterday. He has averaged over 5 sacks the previous four seasons w/the #Ravens and #Bears.

With Galette officially out of the picture in Washington, McPhee will come in and fit in as a good second unit backup for Ryan Kerrigan and Preston Smith.
As for news on Johnathan Hankins, nothing has been said about his status or how he felt after leaving Redskins Park. Full Press Coverage staff however was told that the meeting between the two parties went “good” not “great”.
