Puka Nacua is doubtful for the Los Angeles Rams’ Sunday night game against the Denver Broncos, putting the offense in position to prepare for another week without one of its most important receivers.
Nacua did not practice Wednesday, Thursday or Friday because of a hip injury, according to the Rams’ final Week 3 injury report. He has not been ruled out, but the designation indicates he is unlikely to play.

Puka Nacua Injury Update: Another Absence Possible
Nacua was inactive for Monday’s game against the New York Giants. The Rams now face the possibility of going consecutive games without him as they move from that home matchup to a road assignment in Denver.
The production at stake is substantial. Nacua led the NFL with 129 catches last season, finishing with 1,715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
Replacing that kind of player involves more than assigning his targets to someone else. His absence would give Denver one fewer established threat to account for and increase the importance of the Rams creating favorable opportunities for the rest of their receiving group.
What Nacua’s Status Means for Davante Adams and Matthew Stafford
The Rams have already shown they can generate offense without Nacua. Matthew Stafford threw four touchdown passes in the Week 2 victory over the Giants.
Davante Adams would remain a central consideration for Denver’s coverage if Nacua sits again. That creates an opportunity for the supporting receivers, but an opening on the depth chart does not automatically produce efficient targets or a predictable fantasy workload.
For Stafford, the challenge would be distributing the ball when the defense can devote more attention to Adams. Sustaining drives will require contributions beyond a single receiving option.
Jordan Whittington Has No Game Designation
Jordan Whittington finished Friday as a full participant with no game designation after dealing with a quadriceps injury. That gives the Rams another available receiving option.
There is still uncertainty at tight end: Colby Parkinson is questionable with a knee injury after missing all three practices. Safety Kamren Kinchens is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
Fantasy Football: Have a Replacement Ready Before Sunday Night
For Nacua’s fantasy managers, the recommendation is to prepare another starter. Waiting until Sunday night creates a timing problem: many possible replacements will have already played by the time his final availability is known.
Managers who want to preserve the option of using Nacua should first confirm they have an eligible replacement in a later game. League rules vary, so check when each roster slot locks and whether the replacement fits that position.
Adams remains the more established option in this passing game. Whittington’s availability makes him worth monitoring in deeper formats, but there is no confirmed workload that justifies treating him as a direct substitute for Nacua’s usual production.
Friday’s report gives the Rams and fantasy managers the same practical task: prepare for an offense without Nacua while watching for any change to his status before kickoff.
